Cobb County Community Services Board Expanding Services
The Cobb County Community Services Board (CSB) is expanding services to better serve the local community. The first footings for the new building were poured on Wednesday, January 14th. The Behavioral Health Center is expected to open in the summer of 2015. The location, 1775 County Services Parkway, Marietta, is across from the Cobb Adult Detention Center.
The 19,000-square-foot building being constructed by the CSB will have 24 stabilization beds where clients needing immediate care for mental health and or substance use disorders can be treated, as well as four transition beds for clients who waiting for a residential placement or placement at longer-term rehabilitation facility. It will also offer a 23 hour observation area and a walk-in assessment area 24 hours a day.
To staff the center the CSB will be expanding its work force with the hiring of MDs, RNs, Physician Assistants, and client support workers to list a few.
