CARF Accreditation

Cobb County Community Services Board and Douglas County Community Services Board has received formal notification from CARF that they have been awarded another THREE years of accreditation.

CARF  founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. The  survey by  CARF’s team took place on October 21-23, 2013.

Why is accreditation important?
Consumers face a variety of options when deciding what services to use and who should provide them. Accreditation is a sign of quality and is an important consideration in their decision making.

CARF International has surveyed hundreds of thousands of programs throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia since it was founded as an independent, nonprofit accreditor in 1966.

How is accreditation achieved?
Achieving accreditation requires a service provider to commit to quality improvement, focus on the unique needs of each person the provider serves,
and monitor the results of services.
