In a joint partnership through Wellstar Health
Systems, Cobb CSB has begun offering behavioral health services
in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
The Sheriff's office estimates that some 20 percent of the
2,060 inmates at the facility have mental illness. It has
set up a separate pod at the jail for inmates with acute needs
including mental health and substance abuse. The new unit
provides education, treatment and support services. The CSB
also provides treatment for the inmates following their incarceration.
